True Fellowship

Fellowship; koinonia (kolvwvia)
Communion, joint participation (conveyed from these words community, sharing and intimacy)

Psalm 23;

1; the lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

What is to shepherd (pastor/herdsman)? Tends sheep/ someone who watches over, looks after, or guides somebody (spiritually and physically)

2; He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Imagine after a long a day, and you are weary and stress and restless, and a friend comes to your place, invites you to go for a walk and an ice cream as you talk and walk. Now in this fellowship of the four of you, (you, the father, the spirit and the son) his presence leads to a peace which is like a sea of quiet waters, and this is the sea of grace he soaks you in… when you have a shepherd he provides food.. the green pastures.. pasture is a large area covered with grass and other low pants suitable for animals; God leads you to a land flowing with milk and honey, he rains Manna for you when you in fellowship with him)

3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness of his name’s sake.

(In ISV; He revives my life; he leads me in pathways that are righteous for his name. (when Jesus came and died for us, he grafted us in the fellowship of the three, in the fellowship from which we fell, he took us back, and in order to do this, he renews us, he renews our spirits and he being the way the truth and the life, we stop living our lives, and live his life, and thus walk in him, who is the walk)

4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

( in Romans 8 he says nothing will ever separate us from his love, not even death. And yet as we live in this earth we rebel and like children we are sometimes we refuse to bath and sleep early, thinking that we know better than our parents. So even with God we think that we have figured out the way to the promise land, and so we take a shortcut that leads to the valley.

The beauty about this fellowship is even when we rebel and go off the track, he walks with us even in our stubbornness he walks with us, and when he becomes our strengthens in our weaken (the valley of the shadow of death)
Rod; a club, short stick(this was used for protection,)

Staff; walking stick, strong pole used to carry. The shepherd’s staff, 1. is used to draw sheep together into an intimate relationship. 2. it’s used to reach out and grab a lamb for close inspection. 3. Guiding the sheep as they are moving along, cause sheep tend to wander off. (they always tend to think that the pasture is greener somewhere else.) the staff represents the spirit of God. John 16:13.

5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoinest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
(He is a God that will never get ashamed of you: he returns that the locust has eaten seven folds. He makes you a king that he will anoint you with oil (wash you with the blood of Jesus) his blessings are endless, so the mercies, “my cup runneth over”.

6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (in this fellowship you, rule with him, you are part of him, his peace is yours. This summarizes the fellowship when you stop being and he starts being.)
